My name is Carol Bacon and I am a Seneca Indian from Oklahoma. My salvation took a long time for me to heed His calling.
I give Him all the praise and glory for not giving up. The second call came after my teen years. The Lord began to deal with my heart when I was thinking about marriage.
I had become a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in 1953 and became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 1958, but my goal in life was to find a good husband who did not drink or smoke and to raise a large family. I desired to make a loving family as I believed in marriage with one man for life. This was taught to me by a loving wise mother about life. I met Wilburn, who had come from a good loving family with a good Christian mother, but he was not saved yet.
Looking back now I can see the hand of the Lord in providence putting His plan to work in our lives. The Lord continued to draw me during marriage counseling at the First Baptist Church. At the age of 24 years I realized I was a sinner and asked the Lord to save me. I followed the Lord in believer’s baptism and became a member of the First Baptist Church. I still praise the Lord for not passing me by and for the cleansing of my sin.
He has kept me on a straight and narrow path that leads on into eternity as He has promised and I am able to sing ‘Holy, Holy, Holy’ with the angels for what God has done for me.
Does God answer prayer? After three miscarriages, the Lord gave me my first child and two more children to follow. I have three wonderful children, and now I am a grandmother with grandchildren.
What about Wilburn? Well God chose to save him when he was close to 70 years of age, and now I serve with him as a deacon’s wife at the Greenhill Baptist Church near Talihina, Oklahoma.
God does answer prayer and I have made it a practice to pray about all the events in my life and keep a direct line of communication to our Lord Jesus Christ as he sits at the right hand of God the Father and intercedes for us.
Dear Reader: Jesus Christ is your Creator. He is the Son of God. He died on a cross to pay the sin-price for sinners. The innocent and holy Christ suffered the judgment of God that guilty sinners deserve. Jesus shed His own precious blood to wash away the sins of all those who would believe on Him.
“Christ died…was buried, and…rose again the third day according to the scriptures.” (1 Cor. 15:3-4).
Jesus Christ is the living Lord of Glory. He sits on a sovereign throne in Heaven as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
God “…now commandeth all men everywhere to repent…” (Acts 17:30)
Dear friend, you must turn from your sin and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, or you will suffer the judgment of God for eternity.
